Terrorism Threats to Civil Aviation

On 28 May of this year, a meeting was held with Krzysztof Liedel –  specialist in the field of  internationl terrorism and its combating - in the Air Force Academy in Dęblin. “ Terrorist Threats to Civil Aviation – trends and prognosis “ was the topic of presentation.

The aim of the meeting was to present the framework for action at terrorist organizations as well as its evolution in these days.

Terrorism is a theatre addressed to observers not to victims.Terrorist attack is organized in order to threat the observers strike fear into their hearts make them feel frightened. It is a political methode of fighting. The years since 9/11 have been different from those preceding them.Terrorism after 9/11 is different – you are either wit us, or against us. Bravura of the terrorist attacks is of the essence.

In relation to Aviation, nowadays,terrorists are responsible for testing possibilities of breaking current security systems- Kristopher Liedel emphasised.

 


 

Kristopher Liedel – Polish lawyer, specialist in the field of international terrorism and its combating, doctor of military sciences. Lecturer at Collegium Civitas in Warsaw. Editor – in – chief of the quarterly “ Terrorism: threats – prevention – counteraction”. A scholarship holder of the United States government. Independent exper of the United Nations Security Counsil Section for the Prevention of Terrorism . Member of International Association Counterterrorism & Security Professionals.

A graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of UMCS. He also completed post-graduate studies in the field of information security ( AON ), political science ( Collegium Civitas ) and organization and management ( WAT ). In 2009 he defended his doctoral thesis  “ Information resources management in the conditions of terrorists threats for the security of the state”. Written under the direction of prof. Piotr Sienkiewicz at the National Security Faculty of the National Defense University.
